On Thursday, Da Nang’s local authorities and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) entered into an agreement to implement the Q-Health project in the city.

Under the agreement, KOICA will donate around 450,000 USD to the Centre for Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine at the Da Nang General Hospital.  The money will be used to improve the efficient usage of medical support equipment at the centre, and enhance the management capacity of its doctors and nurses.

Addressing the signing ceremony, new municipal People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho spoke highly of KOICA’s financial assistance for the centre.  He remarked that improving the quality of the healthcare services locally is one of the city’s top priorities.

KOICA was founded as a government agency on 1 April 1991 to maximise the effectiveness of South Korea’s grant aid programmes in developing countries through implementing the government’s grant aid and technical cooperation programmes.
